Good Vibrations (or Going With the Flow - Thank You, Aliens!)

July 13, 2006 – 14:15

I was teasing the trainer from the next shed row. She’s been “reminding” me of how many days left until my vacation to keep me cheered up. Things have been a bit stressed out this week. Anyway, she pointed out that there were just two days left and I turned to a passing co-worker and made a remark about how she was looking forward to getting rid of me … she was helping with the countdown! Of course, she defended herself by pointing out that she was helping to count because she was happy for me and wished she could go too.

As with everybody at this point, I point out payment options.

It’s too late to add people this late, I’m sure, but we’ve found a few people who would love to go on a similarly planned trip next year. If one was to be planned.

*looks pointedly at The Shepherd

On the other hand, I guess we should see how well this trip goes before plotting to make it an annual event.

I’m taking Saturday afternoon off. It seemed reasonable … I’ll only be missing the races. Well, geez! Talk about guilt! The bosses, George and the Dragonlady, have two of my horses racing! TWO!! One of which I would have loved to paddock. But I feel better about Dragonlady doing it for me. That horse requires understanding. I trust very few people with her. She’s the one who gave me the lovely pink and purple present on my thigh. I have the pics … just need to get them DL’d!

I cheated with my chores today … I brought the laundry home and did it here. Heh. I still have time for a quick nap, but I’m afraid that I won’t be able to wake up from it. I’ve been having a lot of trouble waking up lately. This morning I actually slept in 45 minutes! I’ve got to reset the snooze button to nine minutes instead of fifteen. It’s getting me into trouble!

I think I’ll try the nap anyway …

July 14, 2006 – 17:45

Ah! I am wefweshed!

Kidding … but I did just finish another nap, so it all fits in. Had a decent day today. I managed to wake up without having to fight for it. I got to work early … something I’d been trying to do all week. I was on my second horse by the time the others showed up and got to work on their first. This is what I needed to get back into the groove of my life. I am used to showing up well before the others and getting things done in the quiet before they arrive. I LIKE IT. I like the quiet of early mornings … I just don’t always like waking up to them. Heh.

So, tomorrow is my last morning of work. I’m seriously looking forward to it. I’m hoping to get there early again. Earlier than today and get myself organized and well into my routine before anybody else gets there. That’s the hope, anyway. I have to help out with races tonight so I won’t be getting to bed quite as early as I did yesterday. I’m still going to try though. I feel very charged about it. Maybe knowing that I have a break coming up is helping. I actually went through today with the stress … and that felt good too. Yup. The early thing rocks. If only I could wake up to it.

This trip is going to be so fantastic! I’ll have the time to write again! I never did get that SM story completed. I wonder if I’ll manage while I’m gone? Perhaps I’ll have time tomorrow night while I’m doing laundry and packing … One never knows. I have re-written the opening scene three times and I can’t seem to get it to work out right. Maybe I lack the inspiration? Or is it just the need to relax?

Having discovered that the schedule for the Con is online, I gave it a quick peek this morning. I prefer to see it in block form, but I might be able to manage something to help with the organization. My immediate problem was that I already want to go to about five things the first day … and three of them are on at the same basic times. *sigh *

Mangamangamangamangamangamangamangamangamangamanga … hee hee

The new best flavour of ice cream ever – outside of the traditional chocolate – is cherry chocolate chunk. *shivers in ecstasy *

Ooh … just had a small inspiration. Maybe I’ll get something written after all. I just wish I didn’t have to get back to work soon … I’d start writing right now.

Hmm … Well, I DO have half an hour to get things going … No. No, I have to get past the “sticky” part first. It can wait for tonight. I wrote the idea down .. the flavour will still be there later. Agh! The ideas are still coming! Oh, the creative flow! How I’ve missed it!

I must write!

Sweet Dreams!!!

The Winds of Time are Fast & Sometimes Furious!

July 6, 2006 – 04:44

Wow … I’ve been remiss in my writing. I’ve only got a few minutes now, but I thought I’d get something started, at least.

Countdown of 10 days to go. I’m really looking forward to going on this trip. Jade says I’ll be miserable because I’m always miserable when we travel. Piffle, say I. He says I’ll be bored. Well, then he’ll have to work harder to keep me from being bored, won’t he?

His parents came and saw me race last week. For those who got the invite to watch and didn’t, you missed a good race. My horse won. I knew she would – although I was a bit worried when I heard that Jade and his parents had all placed bets on her. But I’m not the one who told them to do it, so luck was held.

Time to go to work again …

*sigh *

July 12, 2006 – 16:26

Just sneaking a few words in here. I have to get ready for my horse’s race soon. This is my third race ... I won my first, and my second ... can I make it three for three? Guess we'll find out soon ...

Had a “TV” moment at work today. I was minding my own business and waiting for break to start when a cop car comes flying out of nowhere (on the road beside the barns) and comes to a sliding halt. The kind that blocks traffic. A cop comes flying out of the car and already has his gun pulled. He starts yelling at the guy in the car that he’d just cut off. Soon, he has this guy down on the ground and in cuffs. Very Exciting stuff … in the don’t-see-that-very-often kind of way.

Three more days of work and then blissful sleeping in. We’ll still have to set the alarm to keep up with a schedule, but anything that let’s me sleep past 03:00 is sleeping in!

My trainers are killing me … I won’t be available for Saturday’s races. I have two horses in that afternoon, if I’m reading this right. I wonder if I will have time to go and watch them at least? We’ll see. I’ll have to confirm that they are mine first.

I wonder if I can work something out if they are …

Sweet Dreams!!!
